She is a physician‑scientist whose community‑engaged clinical research spans many areas of sexual health, including improving outcomes for trans and gender‑diverse patients receiving gender‑affirming care, enhancing access to and experiences within healthcare settings for these populations, advancing HIV prevention, improving STI diagnostics, and promoting vaginal health. She provides gender‑affirming care at the UAB Gender Health Clinic, HIV primary care at the UAB 1917 Clinic, and specializes in the management of complex vaginal health infections at the UAB Vaginitis Specialty Clinic. She is committed to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and didactic settings and serves as faculty for the Southeast Prevention Training Center, where she trains community and public health partners on sexual health and STI‑related topics.
