Early Career Award Celebrating Outstanding Early Contributions and Future Impact

Jason Zucker, MD

Jason first came to ASTDA as a fellow attending a Junior Investigators Forum and left with something he did not expect: a sense of belonging in a field that deserves far more attention and resources than it receives. That experience shaped the kind of scientist, clinician, and mentor he has worked to become, and it is why he is running for a seat on the ASTDA Board. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Columbia University, where he leads research on HIV and STI prevention and care for adolescents and young adults, directs the NYC STD Prevention Training Center, and oversees ProjectSTAY, a youth‑focused sexual health program in New York City. He serves on the CDC STI Treatment Guidelines and IAS‑USA Prevention Guidelines writing groups, and he has mentored trainees at every stage, several of whom have received ASTDA‑supported awards.
