The ASTDA Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose exceptional scholarship, innovation, and service have made a significant impact on the field of sexually transmitted diseases. This award honors a distinguished body of work—or a singular major contribution—that has advanced scientific understanding, strengthened public health practice, and meaningfully shaped the future of STD prevention, awareness, research, and care.

Stephanie Cohen, PhD, MPH
Stephanie Cohen is the Director of the STI and HIV Branch in the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Population Health Division and an Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She previously served as the Medical Director of San Francisco City Clinic from 2010 to 2023, a nationally recognized center of excellence for sexual health care.
