The ASTDA Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose exceptional scholarship, innovation, and service have made a significant impact on the field of sexually transmitted diseases. This award honors a distinguished body of work—or a singular major contribution—that has advanced scientific understanding, strengthened public health practice, and meaningfully shaped the future of STD prevention, awareness, research, and care.

Christina Muzny, MD, MPH
Dr. Christina Muzny obtained her medical degree at the Texas A&M University Health Sciences Center College of Medicine followed by an internal medicine residency and an infectious diseases (ID) fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She joined the UAB ID faculty in 2010. She obtained an MSPH in Epidemiology at the UAB School of Public Health in 2017.
